Still Learning After All These Years: My Creative Direction for 2026

It’s a strange thing to have over a decade of experience and still feel like you’re figuring yourself out as an artist. I used to think that after this many years, I’d have a clear identity, a signature style, a perfectly defined path. Instead, I’m realizing that growth doesn’t stop just because you’ve been doing something for a long time. If anything, the longer I create, the more I understand how much there is left to explore.

This year, I’m choosing to lean into that, not as a weakness, but as part of the process.

Lifestyle Portraits: The Heart of What I Do
I’ve always been drawn to portraits that feel natural and lived in; families interacting, kids being themselves, moments that aren’t overly posed. In 2026, I want to lean deeper into that. Not the “everyone stand here and smile” version of family photos, but the kind that feel like real life: warm, imperfect, and meaningful.

Fine Art Flying Dress Sessions: Growing Something New
At the same time, I’m building something more experimental: fine art flying dress sessions. They’re dramatic, colorful, and a little outside my comfort zone, which is exactly why I want to keep exploring them. This year, I want to develop this work slowly and intentionally, finding locations and ideas that feel aligned with my style rather than rushing to fit a trend.

Creating Beauty in an Uncertain Time
It’s impossible to ignore how unpredictable everything feels right now. The economy, the cost of living, the general tension in the world — it all affects how people spend, plan, and prioritize. I feel it too. And maybe that’s why I’ve been thinking so much about the importance of holding onto the things that actually bring us joy.

In a time when so much feels out of our control, capturing family memories or creating personal art becomes more than a luxury. It becomes a way to stay grounded. A way to celebrate what’s still good. A way to make something beautiful in the middle of a chaotic world.

An Invitation
If you’re looking to document your family in a way that feels honest and meaningful, or if you’re curious about stepping into a fine art moment that’s bold and unforgettable, I’d love to create with you. My hope for 2026 is to offer experiences that feel personal and thoughtful; sessions where you can relax, be yourself, and walk away with artwork that holds real emotional value.

Whether it’s a lifestyle portrait session or a flying dress experience, I’m here to help you create something beautiful, something lasting, and something that feels like a bright spot in a complicated time.
